REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT

  • Be a Kenyan citizen
  • A Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.Ch.B) degree from a university recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists council.
  • A Master of medicine in Obstetrics/Gynecology from a university recognized by
  • Kenya medical practitioners and dentists Council.
  • A Registration Certificate by Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
  • A Valid practicing license from Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
  • Specialist Recognition Certificate from Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists council
  • Shown outstanding professional competence and administrative capacity and initiative in the general organization and management of the patients in the area of specialization.
  • Certificate in Computer Application skills from a recognized institution

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitoring fetal development, conducting routine prenatal checkups, managing labor and delivery (including cesarean sections), and providing
  • Conducting annual wellness exams, Pap tests, and breast exams to screen for cancers (cervical, uterine, and ovarian) and other disorders.
  • Investigating and treating menstrual disorders, pelvic pain, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and conditions like endometriosis or PCOS.
  • Advising patients on contraception, birth control options, and fertility.
  • Performing both routine and specialized surgeries, including hysterectomies and removal of ovarian cysts or fibroids
  • Training, supervising and mentoring medical officers (intern) and other students
