Job Description

We are looking for a

Junior Accountant – Tax & Compliance

to join our Finance team in Nairobi.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of

3 years of accounting experience

with strong practical knowledge of

Kenyan taxation, KRA compliance and day-to-day accounting operations

.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily bookkeeping and accounting transactions.
  • Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records.
  • Perform bank, supplier and customer reconciliations.
  • Prepare and maintain general ledger records.
  • Support monthly and year-end closing activities.

Handle

PAYE, VAT and Withholding Tax

compliance activities.

  • Prepare and support submission of tax returns.
  • Maintain accurate KRA and tax documentation.
  • Monitor tax filing and payment deadlines.
  • Assist with KRA queries, reviews and audits.
  • Support inventory and financial reconciliations.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for audits.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
  • Support the Finance Manager/Senior Accountant as required.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in

Accounting, Finance or related field

Minimum

3 years of relevant accounting experience

Strong practical knowledge of

Kenyan taxation and KRA requirements

Experience handling

Familiarity with

iTax and eTIMS

  • CPA (K) or ongoing CPA studies is an advantage.

Good knowledge of

MS Excel/Google Sheets

Experience with accounting software such as

Sage, QuickBooks, Xero or ERP systems

  • Strong reconciliation and numerical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet tax and accounting deadlines.
  • Manufacturing industry experience is an added advantage.
