Job Description

Head of Public Service and Chief of Staff Felix Koskei leads a consultative engagement between the Public Service Commission (PSC), the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) and the Ministry of Education. The meeting, held at State House, Nairobi, on 16 September 2026, focused on integrating academic papers authentication systems.

The discussions underscored the importance of having robust and coordinated mechanisms for verifying academic qualifications. This will strengthen public confidence in recruitment processes. It will also ensure that individuals serving in positions of responsibility possess genuine and duly authenticated credentials.

Speaking during the meeting, PSC Chairperson Francis Meja highlighted the need to integrate and streamline the authentication and verification of academic credentials. He said the initiative would safeguard the integrity of recruitment processes. It would also promote professionalism, competence and merit across the Public Service and the wider workforce.

Also present were Education Cabinet Secretary Hon. Julius Migos Ogamba and PSC Secretary/CEO Paul Famba. KNEC Chairperson Prof. Julius O. Nyabundi and Chief Executive Officer Dr. David Njeng’ere also attended the meeting.

Principal Secretaries in attendance were Dr. Beatrice Inyangala for Higher Education and Research, Mr. John Ololtuaa for Basic Education, and Prof. Jane Imbunya for Public Service and Human Capital Development.
