Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Presiding Officer, the

POLLING/

QUEUING

/COUNTING CLERK

will carry out the following duties

  • Assist in laying out of the polling station and counting room.
  • Demarcate and display posters at the polling station.
  • Control queues and guide voters to respective polling station.
  • Confirm that a voter has not voted by inspecting their fingers for indelible marks.
  • Identify voters before allowing them to vote.
  • Issue stamped ballot papers to voters duly identified in the register of voters.
  • Assist the Presiding Officer with the sorting of votes after voting as part of counting
  • Perform any other official duties as may be assigned by the Presiding officer.

Requirements for Appointment

  • Kenyan citizen of high integrity, and be non-partisan
  • KCSE Aggregate C- and above
  • Must be of good character and
  • Must be available for the entire period of the exercise; and
  • Resident of the County Assembly Ward.

Wages

Polling Clerks/Counting Clerks will be paid
