Medical Jobs. AAR Healthcare Jobs. Responsible for providing emergency medical care, responding to medical emergencies, assessing patients, and supporting safe patient transport and treatment. Requires a relevant qualification in paramedicine or emergency medical care, with appropriate professional registration. The position is based in Nairobi and requires on-site work.

Overall purpose of the job

To safely operate the ambulance unit and assist medical personnel in delivering effective pre-hospital emergency care to patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely drive and operate the ambulance during emergency responses and patient transfers.
  • Assist the paramedic in providing pre-hospital patient care and clinical support.
  • Perform routine vehicle checks, maintenance, and ensure overall roadworthiness.
  • Maintain complete inventory records of vehicle spare parts and emergency equipment.
  • Inspect and ensure all onboard communication systems remain fully operational.
  • Maintain accurate logbooks, maintenance records, and vehicle-related expense receipts.

Qualifications, Experience & Core Competencies

  • Certificate in EMT-Basic or EMT-Intermediate.
  • Valid practicing license from the Kenya Council of Emergency Medical Technicians (KCEMT).
  • Valid Class BCE driving license.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as an emergency ambulance operator.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • High attention to detail and situational awareness.
  • Self-motivated team player capable of working under pressure.
