Summary

Our client is a well-established manufacturer and supplier of

quality hardware and construction products

serving the Kenyan market through a network of dealers, retailers, and hardware shops.

They are seeking a motivated and results-driven

Sales Representative

to drive sales growth and expand its presence within the hardware and retail channel in Kenya.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with hardware shops, dealers, retailers, and distributors, while consistently achieving sales targets and identifying new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the hardware and retail channel.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with hardware shops, dealers, retailers, and distributors.
  • Drive product sales and achieve set monthly and annual sales targets.
  • Conduct regular market visits to identify customer needs, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a strong network of hardware retailers and dealers across assigned territories.
  • Present and promote products to customers, highlighting their features, benefits, and value.
  • Follow up on leads, quotations, orders, and customer enquiries to drive conversions.
  • Monitor stock availability and product movement across the retail channel.
  • Provide regular sales reports, market feedback, and competitor insights to management.
  • Support promotional activities and product demonstrations aimed at increasing sales and market visibility.
  • Ensure excellent customer service and resolve customer concerns promptly

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.

Proven experience in sales within

hardware shops, building materials, or retail hardware channels

.

  • Experience selling through dealer and retailer networks.

Previous experience with a

wheelbarrow or related hardware manufacturing company

will be an added advantage.

Strong knowledge of the

Kenyan hardware market, customers, and distribution channels

  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain dealer and retailer relationships.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self-driven, results-oriented, and comfortable working independently.
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
